Nicole Zylstra

Nicole is excited to be bringing All Request Heartache to the Calgary fringe with her fellow artist and friend, Sara Simpson. We did this show at the Big City Improv Fest in Toronto and we are psyched to give it a bigger run here at home.

Nicole is a writer, director, designer, and improviser. As an improviser and comedian, she has written and performed her own shows across Canada. With the Kinkonauts you may have seen her improvising Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Musicals, and even Anton Chekhov. She is an 18 year veteran and founding member of Dirty Laundry. If you’re really old, you may remember her as a member of Calgary sketch group Obscene But Not Heard, with whom she toured across Canada in their fringe festival hit, Jihad Me at Hello. Hopefully you caught her show Anesthesia’s Antiques Roadshow at various places around town.

As an actress, she has performed at professional theatres including ATP, Lunchbox Theatre, the High Performance Rodeo, and Stage West. As a writer, she has written and performed more than 20 shows, including productions at Lunchbox Theatre and Vertigo.

Nicole has 2 kids, 2 cats, and wants to change the world with the baritone uke.
