Last Night’s Heartache…

Was a troubled father-daughter relationship inspired by this old chestnut. Ha! Get it? Chestnut. As in oak tree…

Song inspirations from the first three shows

…were awesome!

Thanks for all the wonderful song suggestions.

Our first show asked the question, how do you start a new relationship when you find out your date has a terminal diagnosis? Bucket list items include finally trying the Peanut Buster Parfait. You always think it’s going to be too big, but it’s not.

Our Second Show

Told the story of a couple coping with all the little things that get under your skin. Until you get really under each other’s skin and find out your goals may not match after all. What happens when you go across the country to say you’re sorry and you find your former partner is now married with a new baby? Helpful tip: Always keep a beer in the formula fridge for emergencies.

  1. Could I Have This Dance (for the rest of my life) (Anne Murray)
  2. Somewhere (Tom Waits version)
  3. That’s No Way to Say Goodbye (Leonard Cohen)

Third Show

This show followed an older musician and a young one getting together and growing apart. In retrospect it maybe shared some themes with A Star is Born… However, there is no AutoHarp in A Star is Born, and there definitely was in ours. And nobody died… they just faded away like an old cowboy, singing a sad sad song.

  1. Better Man (Pearl Jam)
  2. Always on My Mind (Willie Nelson)
  3. You’ve Done Nothing Wrong (Iris deMent)
  4. Every Rose Has Its Thorn (Poison)
